Call for Compositions: 1st Annual Quey Percussion Duo Composition Contest

PURPOSE
To encourage the composition of new works for percussion duo

PRIZE
1st Place Winner
$500
Publication by HoneyRock Publishing
Premiere of the work by Quey Percussion Duo in Spring 2006

2nd Place Winner
$250
Premiere of the work by Quey Percussion Duo in Spring 2006

COMPOSITION REQUIREMENTS
– 5-10 minute original work for percussion duo
– Small to medium percussion set-up with or without keyboard instruments (Multiple-Percussion Duo) OR any combination of a mallet duo (Marimba Duo, Marimba/Vibraphone, etc…)
– Difficulty of the composition is left to the composer, however realistic performance demands should be considered
– Previously commissioned or published works may not be submitted

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
– 3 copies of the work must be submitted with the composer’s name on the score
– If the score is not computer generated the manuscript must be clearly notated
– 1 CD or cassette of midi performance is not required, but is preferable
