I am considering buying a new Yamaha 4.3 octave Padouk wood marimba (model 1430). Does anyone have any opinions about this instrument (or any Yamaha marimbas)? Is this a reasonable price?
I don't have a huge budget and am far from a professional, but I wanted a 4.3 octave instrument and I wanted it to be wood.
Can anyone give me some advise before making this investment?

The price sounds pretty close to me. maybe you could do a little better.... If you haven't already done so, check with one or more of the discount dealers such as Steve Weiss Music..
