I left the title off of the other one. 🙂
I have an excellent senior marimba player, who I'm going to let play a piece with the concert band (only one group, for the program) for our spring concert. She has already played the entire Creston Concertino, but I feel that the parts might be a little too hard for the band. (I've only heard a recording with orchestra, but I assume the wind ensemble version is pretty much the same.) She is very proficient with four mallets as well, and has played a large amount of literature. Do any of you have any suggestions for a piece with an excellent mallet solo (approx. the same difficulty as the Creston, or slightly harder), that is well-received and not of too much difficulty for the band. Thanks a bunch!

I'm really into the Maslanka Concerto written originally for wind band and marimba. I also like the Resauro concerto which I belive has a wind band arrangement, though I could be wrong on that one.
