...auditions for what? College? Grad' school? High school "All-State"? Something else entirely?

Dear Joe,

Do you have a teacher? There are so many variables to be addressed when you approach college auditions. It is almost impossible to prepare yourself without a teacher to advise you. What schools are you planning to apply to? Different schools have different requirements and levels of expectation. What is your level and experience on the various instruments? Should you play a marimba piece with a high difficulty level and easier pieces on snare and timps or vice versa? Is your level equal on all instruments? Simply asking this message board for pieces and trying to learn them will probably not serve your needs. Where do you live? I'm sure someone on this board can recommend a teacher who will work with you to design an audition program that reflects your strengths and steer you to schools that are appropriate for your goals and abilities. Good luck.
