I'm just getting started on this piece by Richard Rodney Bennett. Does anyone have any suggestions? Are those all one-note, one handed rolls? Does anyone know of recordings of this piece?
Thanks
there is a killer recording of this on snoop dogg's latest album. It's titled "yo yo I just might bust a cap in your silly punk ass" but don't worry it's the same tune. I first heard this song at the Grand Masta' Stout performance down on skid row. You might be able to get that recording if you know the right cats, I could hook you up if you could just swing a brotha' a favor or two. If I could just get ya to send me a tape of you running around in circles till you vomit on your mother I'll send ya the recording. That's really about the simple way to get it, I had to take care of some sucka's and put em in the ground for the Grand Masta' Stout just to get my hands on it. email me and we'll talk about it: www.Big_ol_badsucka_with_a_pipe@yourmom.com
Also, After Syrinx II is written for either a 4.3 or 4.5 octave marima, and there are Ossia suggestions for those limited to performances on 4.3 instruments (that would include me). However, after a more thorough read-through of the piece I noticed two low G's in the 4th system of page 6 for which there is no alternative suggestion. Anyone know what should be done for those?
