How can I do the one handed roll with the stevens method? In the book it says it has it's own technique, but he doesn't tell us in the method of movement. Any help?

You want to think of it initially as a "wiggle" or "twitch." Assuming you have mastered the technique of holding the mallets:
1. Place one hand on the marimba a 4th or 5th apart. (It is much easier to work on the roll at these intervals)
2. Now while leaving the mallet heads on the keyboard begin to move your wrist back and forth until it feels comfortable. (This part takes a while.)
3. Once you have achieved a good feel for the "wiggle", then pick the mallet heads awy from the bars and SLOWLY begin to work the sticks back and forth.
4. Create exercises to develop freedom of movement like paradiddles for instance.
Essentially this sounds very easy, however like all other method books you work out of nothing replaces a living bringing, teacher.
Have fun and I hope all goes well for you!
