Hi, I want to perform marimba pieces for my youth symphony orchestra, do you have any recommandation.
I now am thinking of playing Zikovich 2nd concerto or Abe's Prism Rhapsody, since both composers quite famous, but i dont think any of the players in the orchestra even heard of them. Are there any other suggestion?

The more I play the Ewazen concerto the more I think it is brilliant. The Zivkovic and Abe pieces are great, but the Ewazen in my opinion is much easier to listen to, and he has more experience writing for orchestra.

the Bennett conerto for marimba & orchestra is excellant, you might want to check it out. I don't think a recording is available.
