I just played Musser's B and C Major etudes, Monograph IV, the first movement of the Creston Concertino, for a local recital - what are a few good pieces to start, from here?
try some of the more accessible Keiko Abe pieces, i.e. Frogs, Michi, if you're into that, if not, then maybe something like Rhythm Song by Paul Smadbeck. If you don't find that to be too hip, then maybe something like Two Mexican Dances by Gordon Stout-just a few suggestions
Earl hatchs themes and Varations on Japanese Childrens Songs is a piece which is overlooked. some of the movements are not too difficult however the entire piece is amazing.
Now that you have a good flavor of the colors the marimba can produce, consider exploring Japanese repertoire since that's the music that really put the marmba on the map. Any of Ms. Abe's pieces or the one's she had commisssioned for her which ares till played everyday would be a great next step. Pieces like "Time for Marimba" by Miki, "Conversation" or "Torse III" by Akira Myoshi are also great pieces.
I hope this helps.
