I have been playing Abe's piece for awhile now,
I have found that her pieces are quite expressive
and all of her compositions have titles already
like michi = road, frogs, cherry blossom dance,
variation on children's song. So I have found her pieces
not that hard to interpret.
I have played American compositions too.
A lot of American composers tend to
compose under certain titles such as Velocities,
Mexcian Dance, so after listening to it once,
you are almost sure how it should sound like.
However, I have found it hard to interpret a lot
of pieces that I can't really get what they mean,
so help me please or interpret them.
Like Tanaka's 2 Movement, Miki's Time and Marimba Spritual, Abe's Prism Rhapsody. others like Conversation??, Torse III??Ultimatum?? I dont really get the titles so kinda afraid of taking that up lo^^. I have listened to the recordings already, I still can't seem to grasp the interpretation, so I dont really know how I should play them. Can anyone explain those titles and
give me some suggestions on how to play them, especially Tanaka's 2 Movement? I got the notes, but I just dont know how to play that and Miki's Marimba Spiritual.
Also, I have found it hard to interpret the concertos.
I have played different piano concertos before,
but marimba concertos are different. I have done Milhaud and Rosauro's concerto before, so theirs are ok to interpret. But Japanese or Zikovic's concerto's?
I dont really know how I should play them, both of
them sound "unique". I dont think I can ever interpret them.
If anyone plays them, how did you play them?
What exactly do you want? I don't really get your point...
