Could you give me any info on it. How hard is it? What size Marimba do I need? Where could I order it? How difficult would it be for the orchestra? How long is it? Thank you very much for your help! =)
The Rosauro is one of the more accessible marimba concertos out there, and probably the most played. It can be done on a 4 1/3 octave instrument without alteration. I've heard good high school orchestras play it, but a lot of times those orchestra squares have a hard time with Mr. Rosauro's rhythms and time signatures! You can get it here:

Good Luck!

I was working up the Rosauro to play for my highschool senior recital. It is a fairly difficult piece (i never say anything is too hard). I think it is a great piece overall, and i heard from a teacher that the orchestra part is not hard, but as Tyson said, some people will have trouble with the time signature changes even though they do flow nicely in the 4th movement. I think you can order the solo part and piano reduction for $25 and shipping from Steve Weiss, and you can rent Orchestra or Band parts from Malletworks
If you have any more questions, you can email me at RPAGE262@aol.com
Tim, I think most of your questions have been addressed ... in a previous Rosauro post as well (Search the board for my previous comment, message 1538; you'll find others as well). I played it a couple times this past year, but with a piano accompanist. Not sure how difficult the orchestra part is.
If you want to play it up to speed, the third and especially fourth movement require a lot of endurance (left arm better be strong ... and if not, it WILL be by the time you're done learning the piece).
It's a fun piece. Good luck!
