Hello, I'm working towards a big recital in September and was looking or an opening piece. I need something that is not too long (1:30-3:00mins) and is not too difficult eg. Velocities (hahaha). Does anybody have any ideas?? Thanks very much. Enjoy the summer!! Greg

Do you know Musser's Etude in Cmajor? I think that is a great little piece, short and sweet.

The musser etude is very fun, but a couple more good ones would be either a smadbeck etude or a Sammutt Rotation. I'd suggest the first smadbeck etude.

I don't know if this is too out of reach, but I am working on Prism right now, and it's sure to be a crowd pleaser and a good opener. Check into it if possible

yeah there was this short little jig I ran into to sight read. It's called "Velocities" by Joseph Schwantner maybe you've heard of it? It ain't too hard and is nice and tonal. Way good opening piece, you'll rock it.
