I need some help deciding on what I want to work on next. I've played Yellow after the Rain, Sea Refractions, 7 Brazilian Children's Songs, and a few other stuff from Bach for Marimba and Masterpieces, but "Yellow" was the most difficult thing I've played so far.
I'm stuck between Rain Dance by A. Gomez or Restless by R. O'Meara. Any one have any experience with these two pieces? How are the compared to Y.A.T.R? I'm just looking for the next logical step and something that's fun to play. I'm also open to other things that you might know. Thanks.
Justin
I have only heard a small clip of Raindance but i love listening to restless. I was actually torn between the two, and i am not sure of the difficulty of each, but i decided to go with Rhythm Song by Paul Smadbeck. I think the range goes below and A in Restless to a D flat i think (someone correct me if i'm wrong). Rhythm song is a great piece with a constant feel and it will build your mallet independence and i definately reccomend it.
restless is lots harder than rain dance and yellow. i'd do raindance first.
Thanks guys for your input. I thought Restless might be a little difficult for me coming off of Yellow, but I just love the piece! I was thinking Restless might be do-able because I really liked the permutation part of Yellow. But, oh well...I guess it's Raindance unless some one says otherwise!
