Attractive young female percussionists wanted for new Percussion Quartet.

Classical Music UK has been commissioned by a European consortium to create a new

'all-girl' percussion quartet for development for TV, recording and live touring work.

The group will be developed and marketed along similar lines to the successful

all-girl string quartet 'Bond' and repertoire will range from tuned percussion quartet

arrangements of well known classical chamber music, through drum kit battles, Latin

American styles, audience participation, to trance and other modern dance music forms.

New stage shows and percussion instruments are being devised for the group and guest

spots are planned - for live and recorded performances - with artists from other music

genres including rap, opera and baroque styles.

A significant merchandising and endorsement package is planned.

The successful applicants will be talented female percussionists based in Europe and

are likely to be under 25 years of age. They will be attractive and feisty and will

possess a stage presence and a appealing personality. They will also be passionate

about drums and percussion and be able to talk publicly on the subject with

confidence.

Applications should be made by email only to Mark Walmsley at

editor@classicalmusic.co.uk and should include:

Full name and postal address
Email address
Telephone number
A brief description of playing experience and studies
A full length and close up photo (or link to them)
CV/Resume if available.

A reply can only be expected if all of the above are provided.

Does anyone else find this add offensive? Even if I was an attractive female (I'm an awkward, unattractive male) I wouldn't audition for this quartet. As a musician I want to get gigs because of musical ability, not the ability to look sexy while playing the drums. Let me also say that groups like the all-girl string quartet "Bond" have done more to objectify women than Larry Flynt and Hugh Hefner ever have.

I wouldn't be caught dead. I hope no other young girls would either. These people are ripping off Blast and selling it with sex appeal. Boo.
