Hi, I just wanted to hear from some people on the
subject of good method books. I am a good euphonium player and plan to learn alot of other things. I currently read from 'Modern School for Xylo Vibes and Marimba' and want to
know if there are other books that are better for Four Mallet instruction.
Thanx Alot, hteS

Stevens' "Method for Movement" is pretty much THE biggest and most authoratative source in modern 4-mallet percussion playing. Most new keyboard players, as far as I know, pick up the Stevens technique and "Method." Always rely on MOM.

I agree that MOM is the most comprehensive 4 mallet tech. book around and everyone should play from it, but it's not the only book. James Moyer has a good 4 mallet tech. book that I like to use with beginning 4 mallet players. It explains the technique in a little simpler, more condensed terms and provides a good basis for the aspiring marimba player.
