Hi -
Can anyone please recommend a very driven and intense marimba concerto for a recital performance? To be honest, the only marimba concertos i am really into are the Kurka and the Rosauro, and i am saving those for future recitals. I was thinking about doing the Miki Concerto, but unfortuantely Keiko's recording of it is temporary out of print {Which i can't believe!!!!} I tend to purchase all marimba pieces based upon hearing them either in a recital or on a CD

Hi, Lon
Ifukebe: Lauda Concertante
Zivkovic: Marimba Concerto No. 2
I'd recommend getting the Kurka and Rosauro out of the way now and move on in a more logical sequence.

Speaking of Concerti,
I've been looking for a marimba concerto to use in a number of concerto competitions. I want to choose something that will be accepted as musically significant but will also be easy enough for other instrumentalists to listen to.
I was thinking somewhat about the Ewazen concerto (and that also leads me to ask... is it possible to get She-e Wu's recording yet?)... but are there any other recommendations.
Thanks
