Hey Guys -

I have been trying to track down these two out of print CD's for a couple of months now, but i havent had any luck:

1. Keiko Abe - Solo Marimba Selections Vol. 3 {Contains the Miki Marimba Concerto and Tssubonoh Meniscus for Marimba}

2. Neuma - New Music {Contains Gordon Stout's recording of Autumn Island}

If anyone out there has a copy of one or both of these CD's, i was wondering if anyone would be willing to burn me a CD copy of either one or both of these CDs? If you are, please email me at MarimbaMaster82@aol.com. Technically this would violate the rules of Copyright, but seeing how both of these CDs are out of print and very hard to find, i think its legitimate.

Speaking of out of print CDs, i recently got a hold of a copy of William Moersch's CD "The Modern Marimba" from a friend who fortuantely had an extra sealed copy of the CD. This is an outstanding album, which has now become one of favorite marimba albums. The recordings of the Druckman, Bazelon and Bennett are clearly the best ones out there. I also throughly enjoyed the Martin Wesley Smith piece "For Marimba and Tape." I cannot believe the outlook of this CD going back into production is very grim. One was up for bidding on Ebay a couple days ago.

You might want to get in touche with Xebec Music Publishing (TEL 03-3425-0087/FAX 03-3426-1777/e-mail XebecMSC@aol.com) for Keiko Abe's CD stock, or have you already?

I feel that, in this internet age, there is got to be a way for "out of print" CDs to be reproduced with something like MP3 and sold so that the copyright owners can make profit and listners get what they wanted. Main reason for making a title out of print is that the CD sales would not justify the manufacturing and distribution process. However, if internet distribution is used, these cost substantially drops and would become possible to continue supplying.
