Hi-
I am a Junior at Lee University. I will be giving my senior recital in 3more semesters and I need some music to begin working on. I am looking for a 4mallet marimba piece(s) that are moderate in difficulty and are fairly tonal. This could include accompaniment but not necessary. Any suggestions?
Thx

I would think any number of the Burritt pieces would fit your description (moderately difficult, largely tonal)..."Caritas" "Shadow Chasers," "Azure" are three that leap to mind. Other ones to check could be either of the Mark Ford solos ("Polaris" "Motion Beyond" -- although I'm not real familiar with the latter of the two). But if you've got three whole semesters yet, you could tackle something harder...

Hope this helps!

I agree with Zac. Try some of the Burritt pieces. I started with October Night and it did wonders for my cops. Four Movements is cool as well, but a little more difficult. I would also recomend some Bach. The cello suites rock and the Lute suites are bad ass!
