HI:
i am intersting in Marimba master degree and i know few school offer the degree...and i just wondering do you guys know what kind common marimba reportires is useful to apply those school? or before i apply those school what kind music i should have played alreday....thank you
Please keep Illinois in mind, as we could offer a marimba concentration MM. I would be careful of getting a degree which says "marimba," rather than "percussion," if you are thinking of applying for a teaching position.
As for repertoire, take a look at my marimba syllabus on this web site under the "Marimba Music" link. The idea is to know at least one piece from each of the outline sections. At the Masters entry level, you should be good up through number VII, even better if you go into VIII-X.
