My mom has a Worlds Fair 1933 Deagan Marimba serial #66 made for Cavilla Jane Foutz.(sp?) I just wondered if she might be a marimba player of note. Just kind of checking for my moms sake.

Don't know about Cavilla, but what your mom has is a King George marimba, collector's item, pretty rare. There's a whole story about those, basically custom made for Claire Omar Musser's 1oo piece marimba orchestra, that played at the World's Fair, and toured England (hence the King George name). Each player had to purchase their own marimba, so the nameplate is the original member of the orchestra. Check out Percussive Arts Society archives for the full story.
