I am looking for rosewood bars to go on my Yamaha Acustilon marimba. Does anyone know where to get them. Steve Weiss said I would be better off getting a new instrument.

I agree with Steve Weiss, due to the fact that the rosewood bars are more or less what you are paying for in a marimba. Although I have seen malletech 5.0 octave bar sets that are used on ebay for about 4,500. They are quite rare though. Another problem will be finding the right size bars to fit the spaces of that frame. That actually might be impossible. Hmmm....interesting

Try contacting Youth Education in the Arts (the agency that runs the Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps). they had some lightly used (so they say) sets of Yamaha rosewood bars for sale on their web site. Maybe you could get lucky. You can contact them at 201-384-8822, or online at www.yea.org. good luck!
