I am going to be entering Interlochen Arts Camps' Concerto Competition this summer, and will need about 5 or 6 concertos to choose from. Since Interlochen's symphony and band generally think more on the conservative side, I'm looking for something that isn't too "out there." The things I will probably use include the Creston, Rosauro, and maybe one of Zivkovic's (although those are a little on the "out there" side) Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks, George Nickson
i heard (im not sure if my source knew what she was talking about) that you couldnt do the creston at interlochen because it was too hard for the orchestra. but dont take my word for it. i'd say the rosauro is your best bet, it was performed about 3 or 4 years ago. and it was the first marimba concerto performed in 50 years at interlochen or something like that.
