Can anyone make a case for Adams over Marimba One? I would like to a Marimba One from Ron. But the non-tunable resonators worry me a bit. The Adams is a bit cheaper too. I know it is subjective. But any help would be appreciated.

Just an FYI...I don't think the Adams has tunable resonators either.

I mentioned this on some other posts, but I'll reiterate here. When picking out any permanent instrument, the point isn't which one is better, whether it's Yamaha vs LeBlanc clarinets, Yamaha vs Strad trumpets, or Adams vs Marimba One vs Kori vs whomever marimbas. The point is to pick the one that's best for YOU. If you feel more comfortable playing an Adams, go for it. It's definitely a good instrument. If you e-mail Robert Van Sice, (or any Adams artist) I'm sure they'll tell you why they play Adams. Play test as many different marimbas as possible to get a feel for what you like and don't like, and go from there.

Kristopher makes a great point of what is good for YOU. But here are yet some more things to consider (also reiterating some of Kristopher's tips). And these are my personal observations by the way:
ADAMS:
-Tunable resonators (I think)
-Easy transport
-Narrower bars, especially at low end
-Sepereation of notes. Can be good, but also bad.
-Need heavier hand to play
MARIMBA ONE:
-Not tunable
-Not easily transportable, but worth their look on stage.
-More resonant
-Very responsive
And I am sure you will come up with some of our own observations too. And as far as I know, I think Marimba One is cheaper, but I could br wrong.
