Hey, ive been hearing alot about this song "october night" by michael burritt and im interested in playing it. I dont know how hard it would be. if it will be too easy or hard.I have played:

"virginia tate"-paul smadbeck
"rhythm song"-paul smadbeck
"Parody"-jesse monkman
"nancy"-emmanuel sejourne
"etude in C"-clair musser
"yellow after the rain"-mitchell peters

Is this enough experience to play "october night"
i have a few questions about it. How big of a marimba do i need? How can you describe it? Is there any sound samples or recording out there on the internet?

i like this piece a lot. its split into two movements. first movement is a chorale type deal with lots of rolls (traditional, ripple, and one-handed). the 2nd movement is really fast runs that fit in your hands quite nicely the way burritt wrote out the stickings. this movement as well has the 3 types of rolls previously stated. the ending is very beautiful, i think. the runs are kind of tricky, but youll see that it is repetitive, and burritt uses simpler intervals (5ths, 4ths). try it out and see how you like it. good luck!
