Im competing in the high school individual marimba competition at Pasic, and am considering peforming the first movement of Two Mexican Dances. For anyone who is familiar with this competition, do you think it is an appropriate piece to perform? Thanks.

Having just endured an entire week of judging the Belgium Competition (120 solo candidates & 40 duo candidates), I heard many versions of Two Mexican Dances, Ghanaia, Nancy, Ultimatum I, and others.
I would NOT recommend Two Mexican Dances for competition, as I heard far too many incorrect versions in all areas of pitch, rhythm, tempo, and phrasing -- so much so that I used it as the main example for my master class.
