Hi there, I am new to "message boards", but am having a bit of trouble....maybe someone can help. I am an elementary music teacher....one of my students has a grandmother who is a concert marimba player...she would LOVE to accompany our chorus for a few selections. I thought maybe some calypso might be a good choice. I don;'t know what kind of music to search for, how to chart the arrangement and who knows, maybe someone already might have info about some music that is already arranged for marimba and voice (I can dream, cant I??) anyway, am open to any and all ideas...feel free to email me at elissa57@iwon.com. Ludwig Albert has an album or two with a soprano which might be of interest,otherwise transcriptions of choir and guitar music might prove fruitful.Also,try the online catalog at www.steveweissmusic.com,both for printed music and recordings.

our high school choir did this lion king song: "he lives in you." it doesnt have a marimba part, but if you hear a recording, there is marimba in it. so all i did was listen to it, noodle around with it, and it sounded really cool. just add drumset and a couple other african instruments and it sounds really cool and its really easy.
