I'm looking for a duet with a flute and percussion. But I've noticed that most I look at are with vibraphone, and those pieces are very contemporary. Don't get me wrong, I like contemporary music, but I'm for a different style. Initially, I was looking for a piccolo/snare drum duet with a good amount of difficulty, but the music that's out there for that is too simple. I'm open to any suggestions, but im steering away from very comtemporary music.

Doug,
Check out the cd Verederos by payton macdonald and Jessica Johnson. I think greg giannascoli and karen demsey recorded a cd of flute and percussion music as well. The Duet for Flute and Percussion by Ingoff Dahl is a standard piece. Also check out the flute and percussion music by Lou Harrison. For a piccolo/sd you could check out fife and drum music. The drummers heritage may be a good source for that.
what exactly in your mind is to contempoary. Any serious piece of music written for percussion and flute is going to be contempoary, in the sense of being written with in the last 30 years.
