I have been working on an arrangement of "Jesu, Joy of man's desiring" for solo marimba and have become aware of the Marchetti arrangement. Has anybody played that and what do you think? I am also working on other solo marimba arrangements and would appreciate opinions on their..."desirability"...or joy there of...

Polka - From Golden Age Ballet - Shostakovich
Solace - Joplin
Bethena Waltze - Joplin
Clair De Lune - Debussey
Children's Songs - Chick Corea

Thanks
Ed

Rainer Kuisma recorded a marimba arrangement of the Shostakovich Polka and Barry Dove later did an improved version. You could contact Barry through either the Global Percussion Trio or umbc.edu (try Google).

There was also an arrangement of Clair de Lune for marimba years ago by Peterson -- check Steve Weiss Music.

Of course, there's no reason not to just make your own arrangements of music that interests you.
