I have a duo with a friend who plays the bassoon. We have some problems finding pieces to play. Any sugestions?
Rather self-serving, but I have a piece titled Duo(Dance-Song) for marimba and bassoon, which is published by KPP. Needs a 5.0 marimba. I performed it at the PASIC convention in Dallas, as part of the "Time for Marimba" day.
Hi Ellen - I played a piece with Brian Kershner (bassoon and composer) at the double reed covention a couple of years ago that I really liked...called Alliterations. A very good work, 7 short movements, some difficult. kershnerbrk@ccsu.edu. I have another piece here called Mirror Images by Thomas Takaro that is very good - check with colla voce publishing to get more about him. There is an easier, shorter piece called Interluce by Murray Houllif published by Permus. I hope this helps. Bassoon and marimba are good together. Greg
