Does anyone have any recommendations for some mostly general purpose marimba mallets. I've been using some Mike Balters in medium hardness that I wrapped myself and haven't been too pleased with the sound from them. They're too hard and sharp sounding. I've been looking at Innovative Percussion mallets and they seem to be quality products but I have no way of hearing them. Any thoughts from anyone?
Any suggestions are welcome.

Greetings,
The mallets I've been using, and like a lot, are the Dan Pancaldi signature line made by The Mallet Company, V-MAX... check out available models on www.gofishmusic.com or ask Steve Weiss Music (via phonecall?)...there are tons of other mallets out there, and Innovative are great, maybe the new Ney Rosauro or William Moersch lines? but I use the V-Max mallets and would recommend at least finding out about them.
Take care!
Jon
