Hello. I have just started to play percussion one month ago,
and I am "focusing" on the marimba. I have a problem,
though. I have access to a marimba twice a month. Can
anyone give me some advice as to what to do, or where to
go. Thank you much.

More importantly than practicing specifically on a marimba, you need to work on mallet chops in general. Basically, if you have access to any instrument such as bells, xylophone, or vibraphone (xylophone preferably) you can start to work on fundamental mallet skills. My first year practicing as a percussionist was mostly on a dinky Pearl practice kit consisting of a set of 2 1/2 octave bells and a drum pad, then after that year I found time at school to practice on their xylophone, and eventually the marimba (when they got one). Right now, it probably isn't crucial for you to practice on a marimba, as it is for you to practice on *something*. Make do with what you've got. Hope this helps 🙂
