can someone please tell me what Perscussive Notes is, and also, are there any percussion magazines out there?

Percussive Notes is the newsletter of PAS. It contains articles about technique literature, auditions, performers, PASIC, etc..

For more information on the Percussive Arts Society (PAS), which publishes Percussive Notes magazine, check out http://www.pas.org.

PAS also publishes a newsletter, smaller in scope than Percussive Notes, titled "Percussion News." IIRC, they alternate; one month, PAS members receive Percussive Notes (either electronically or through the mail), and the next month, Percussion News. (Don't quote me on that - I just got back from a gig, and I'm too lazy to go to the PAS web site to confirm that this is the publishing arrangement...)

PAS also has many old issues of Percussive Notes magazine archived on their site in PDF format.
