Michael Burritt

Michael Burritt is a percussionist, marimbist, composer, and educator. He is Professor of Percussion, Paul J. Burgett Distinguished Professor, and chair of Woodwinds, Brass & Percussion at the Eastman School of Music (as of July 15, 2026). Before joining Eastman, he taught at Northwestern University from 1995 to 2008. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees and the Performers Certificate from Eastman. His compositions include concertos and solo and chamber works for marimba and percussion.
