Katarzyna Myćka is a Polish marimbist, chamber musician, and educator. After training in piano and percussion, she studied at music academies in Gdańsk, Stuttgart, and Salzburg, where the marimba became the center of her work. Her concert activity has included solo recitals, orchestral appearances, chamber music, festival performances, and masterclasses in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Myćka won both first prize and the audience prize at the 1995 International Percussion Competition Luxembourg for marimba solo. In 1996 she received first prize at the inaugural World Marimba Competition in Stuttgart. The Polish Percussive Arts Society named her an ambassador of Polish percussion art in 1999. Her repertoire combines original marimba music with transcriptions, and her recordings document collaborations with composers as well as works by Bach, Prokofiev, Emmanuel Séjourné, and Anna Ignatowicz-Glińska.
Education is a continuing part of her activity. She established the International Katarzyna Myćka Marimba Academy in 2003 and has served on juries at international competitions. As of July 15, 2026, her official biography and Folkwang University of the Arts identified her as Professor of Percussion at Folkwang, an appointment beginning in 2023; her biography also records teaching at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk from 2018 through 2025.
