Moyuru Oda is a Japanese marimbist, percussionist, music educator, and author. Oda graduated from the instrumental music department at Kunitachi College of Music, majoring in percussion. A publisher biography issued in 2025 lists Oda as a part-time lecturer at Tokyo Seitoku University.
Oda leads the Ongaku de Te o Tsunagō Project (literally, “Music Hand in Hand Project”), bringing professional musicians and performers with disabilities together onstage for performances in Japan and abroad. The Okada Music Office also lists Oda as a member of Percussion Ensemble OKADA of Japan (岡田知之打楽器合奏団, also called 岡田知之パーカッションアンサンブル on the source page) on its roster page (accessed August 5, 2026). In 2023, Oda appeared with Ensemble Mallet in the premiere of Michio Kitazume’s Into the Forest.
Recordings
Oda appears with Junko Sakimura and Naoki Kaneta on DIVERTIMENTI – Marimba Alive! vol.2, released in 2019 from a live concert recorded on July 5, 1997. Oda and Sakimura perform all three movements of Seiji Yokoyama’s 1974 Divertimento for Two Marimbas “Kiyūkyoku”.
