Leigh Howard Stevens

Leigh Howard Stevens is a marimbist, educator, recording artist, instrument designer, and the founder of Malletech. He developed an influential approach to four-mallet playing associated with the Stevens grip and one-handed rolls. His Method of Movement for Marimba is widely used in percussion education. As of July 22, 2026, Malletech credited him with nine United States patents for keyboard-percussion design.
