Gordon Stout

Gordon Stout is a marimbist, percussionist, composer, and educator. His works include Two Mexican Dances for Marimba. He is Professor Emeritus of Music Performance at Ithaca College, specializing in percussion, marimba, and composition (as of July 15, 2026); he joined the college in 1980. Stout earned bachelor's and master's degrees and the Performers Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied percussion with James Salmon and John Beck and composition with Joseph Schwantner, Samuel Adler, and Warren Benson.
