I would like to purchase a marimba, mostly for practice purposes. I'm still in high school, so cost is VERY much a factor. At the moment, a rosewood marimba is probably out of my means. I would like to purchase one with as much of a rosewood feel as possible. I've played around on a few synthetics, but not on padauk - so any advice or information would be appreciated. Paduak seems to be significantly cheap, but what is the feel like? How does it compare to a lot of synthetics? Thanks for any advice.
