well the Kraft suites use mainly snare drum tom types of instruments. Im not exactly sure of the instrumentation but I think the French suite uses
1 deep snare drum (with snares on and off for different movements)
1 medium snare drum
1 piccolo or thin snare drum
then 2 different sized toms
and 2 sus. cymbals.
Some of the movements use 4 mallets. But mostly it is just snare sticks

The English suite uses
1 bass drum
1 deep snare
1 med. snare
1 thin (piccolo) snare
and some other drums

They're performed so much because they have such simple instrumentation. If you're a college student all of the equipment should be pretty readily available.

Another multi percussion solo, I would reccomend is Zivkovic's Generally spoken it is nothing but rhythm
heres the instrumentation
Vibraphone
3 Cymbals, 17,15.13 inch. 13 inch is lying on the top of the 15 Inch Cymbal, 2 China Gongs (opera gongs), 2 Almglocken TUNED in d# and f#, 2 Woodblocks, Bamboo chimes
Bongos, 3 Tom-toms (12,14,15 inch)

Just a thought
