I would agree that the Rosauro or Mayuzumi concerto are probably what you're looking for. The Rosauro is about the most famour marimba concerto around, and it fits your requirements of being instantly humable. Its not exceedingly difficult either, accessible to advanced High School aged marimbaists as well as pros.
I dont know much about the Mayuzumi Ive only heard it once, and remember not really liking it. I might be thinking of a different piece.
Another piece you might want to consider is the Eric Erwazen concerto which is great! or a relatively unknown piece by Rihard Dubra, Marimba Concerto: The Light of Eternal Longing. You can check that piece out by going to GMM.com, and clicking on the Daniella Ganeva link. I dont think there is a recording available at the moment of the Ewazen, but I think She-e Wu's cd which is supposedly coming out soon will have it on it.
Just throwing out some ideas

oh, also I got a copy of the Wright Concertpiece for free from Honeyrock...I thought it was complete garbage
