My mom would describe the Zivkovic or Abe piece as "too weird". She would think the Ewazen was "Pretty", or "Nice". I'm not saying the Zivkovic, or Abe are bad pieces, but I must admit it took about 5 times of listening to Prism rhapsody before I could really enjoy it. I've only heard the Zivkovic performed once, and while I thought it was interesting I had a hard time identifying with all of the dissonance. It contains a lot of parallel 2nds, and tone clusters. It is a very interesting and challenging piece, but it is also quite abstract. The Ewazen is by no means easy (especially the 2nd movement), but it may be easier than the Abe and Zivkovic. It is three movements, and each movement is about (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong) 10 minutes.
