Well Raph, he isn't really anything important. Besides having his own series of IP mallets, having numerous pieces dedicated to him, having played numerous commissions, and having been an amazing educator/performer, there really isn't much to the guy. The only thing going for him is his rubber woodblock technique -- he is a virtuoso on that instrument. Hope this helps.
