I have a small or big problem, it depends on how you look at it. I teach percussion at a high school as an assistant band director. Some of the mallet instruments that we use are in bad need of tuning. The head director sees no reason to have them tuned (doesn't want to spend the $) Has anyone had success in tuning mallet instruments "at home"? The key word is Success. I once read a Gordon Peters article in "The Drummer: Man" text and he explains with a little detail how it is done. I haven't really ventured into tuning my own. Any reply would be greatly appreciated.
