Hi,
I'd just like to say that I'm really not a fan of the Ewazen. Its starts out with this beautful chorale and then becomes really mediocre. As in flat out boring. Not fun to play or listen to. There's no drive or interesting rhythm and the phrasing and even harmony is predictable and square. There's a little groove section in the third movement but other than that I don't really like it. Not to say that it's horrible or hokey or anything, but not so great. I mean the Rosauro is a little schmaltzy but at least it's fun, and there's some nice groove.
As for the Zivkovic no. 2, I don't really like it either. It's got cool stuff, especially mov. 3 but a lot of it drags. And also just because there are a lot of notes doesn't make it fun or interesting. I think his first concerto is a lot better and is very underrated.
