Hi Raphael -

When it comes to the issue of recommending mallets, I feel that experimentation is the way to go. Whenever i learn a new piece of music, i will experiment with several different kinds/brands of mallets. I will decide to use the pair or grouping that produces the desired sound i am looking for.

I don't know what sound your looking to get, so i feel that experimentation with several pairs and groupings of mallets of all volume levels {soft, medium, hard, multi tone} will help you on your path to achieving modern nirvana with this brilliant piece of music.

I would begin with the first movement. Mnay people choose to hold off on the fourth movement until the every end for many reasons.

All the Best -

Sincerely, Lon Stetz
