I'm glad you like Vinao's "Khan Variations." I was part of the group that commissioned it.
If you want more great music for marimba, get active and start commissioning music yourself. Everyone who plays the instrument shares a personal responsibility to contribute to the growth of the repertoire. It doesn't take a huge amount of money, especially if you join together and make it a group project. Twelve of us each put up little more than a few sets of mallets and made a difference.
To each one of you out there: "What are YOU going to contribute to the future of the marimba?"
