The Leigh Howard Stevens 25th Summer Marimba Seminar pesents a Marimba Concert Series:
June 3, She-e Wu
June 5, Leigh Stevens
June 10, Michael Burritt
June 19, Gordon Stout
All of the concerts will start at 7pm and are located in the Youth Temple @ 22 Pilgrim Pathway in Ocean Grove, NJ. The tickets are either $5 or $10, I can't remember off the top of my head.
Ocean Grove is VERY close to Asbury Park so you could easily take the train to the Asbury Park station and then get a taxi to the Youth Temple.
If you choose to drive there is some parking around the Youth Temple and plenty in the surrounding blocks or a few blocks away by the shore. Parking is free.
There are also several great restaurants in Ocean Grove near the Youth Temple and as I just mentioned the beach is just a couple blocks away incase you should choose to make an afternoon of it....
Leigh has been putting on this series of concerts for a few years now, and they are always fantastic! When else do you get to hear 4 of the worlds greatest marimbists in the same month?
