I did go through a stint studying baroque music in high school. I was studying classical guitar too (which I do not play anymore), and I was really into the Bach lute suites. The string teacher would meet up with me during study hall and she would show me what all the different ornimentations meant. I think I am fine now, maybe I am worrying too much about it. But you make a GREAT point here: "Sure there may be different opinions on how to interpret it, but whatever you do, do it convincingly."
