Hi Josef,
It seems to me, at least in my experiences, that since everyone plays a little differently, it's sometimes not very useful to use the same mallets as someone else for the same piece. Maybe you could try to borrow a bunch of mallets from a friend and do a little experimenting before you make a final decision. It's fun and you can learn a lot from it.
