Hey, screw you! (Just kidding Mike!) Yeah, you are right, Michael Rosen and Michael Burritt are awesome (and how could I forget that Bob teaches at Yale?). Actually, I am a huge fan of Mr. Rosen's, he has pumped out so many great percussionists (i.e., Mr. Van Sice). I was actually very close to auditioning there for the Spring semester, but decided to go audition at Peabody instead so I could bug you guys. :) Though, for a DMA, I believe its not possible to study with Mr. Rosen, as they only offer undergrad degrees. But I am sure private study would be possible. Obviously my list was short such, but there are many other great teachers. Basically, a majority of the great marimibsts out there seem to have a position somewhere as a teacher. There are alot of great marimbists, therefore alot of great schools. Above all, Rin should consider what you said in your last paragraph, very important! I think its nto so much the school that has the great marimba program, but the school where you are going to learn become well-rounded. Some schools pump out orchestral players, but the good ones teach you everything. I know there are a few places that offer specialized degrees in marimba performance. Me personally, I don't have the guts to do that! ~Behzad
