I had the same impression: i.e., Yamaha generally is tuned very well. That is why I was kind of surprised by this marimba. Perhaps what I felt very bad was the fact that higher octaves were not even 4th partial tuned. Maybe it is upto the Yamaha internal standard. But just to make sure, I will have the instrument checked if it is really 4th partial tuned upto C5. It is kind of disappointing though, if it is the case - To me, the instrument is simply out of tune.

FYI, S-curve seems to be a Yamaha term which means that higher octaves are tuned higher and lower octaves are tuned lower just like many piano.
